Olfaro-OR Suspension by Astalabs is a combination oral suspension containing Ofloxacin, Ornidazole and Racecadotril. The formulation combines antibacterial and antiprotozoal activity with an antisecretory component to provide a comprehensive approach to the management of selected cases of acute diarrhoea associated with infection.
Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent that acts against susceptible bacteria by interfering with bacterial enzymes involved in DNA replication. Ornidazole belongs to the nitroimidazole group and provides activity against susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoal organisms.
Racecadotril is an intestinal antisecretory medicine that helps reduce excessive secretion of water and electrolytes into the intestine. By reducing intestinal fluid loss, it can help decrease the frequency and volume of stools in acute diarrhoea.
Olfaro-OR Suspension is supplied as a 30 ml oral suspension, making it convenient for administration when prescribed for pediatric patients. The appropriate dose should be determined by a healthcare professional based on the patient’s age, body weight, clinical condition and cause of diarrhoea.

Indications
Olfaro-OR Suspension may be prescribed for:
